Week #26 "2018" A Whole Year in Chile

Hey guys wow San Fransico looks awesome. Hope you guys had so much fun. Stinks that you guys are already back in school today but I hope you all had a fun Christmas break!

Q&A
1. The weather here is consisently hot. It is actually fairly managable it is just draining. I am so tired at the end of the day. We do not have A/C but we do have a fan so when we are studying or sleeping in the apartment that thing is on on full force. The heat is hard sometimes but like I said, it is manageable.
2. I am doing really well.  I feel great have not been sick yet. Homesicknesses has mellowed out and I feel a lot more purpose in the work
3. Elder Lucena is awesome. He is such a great missionary. After I finish this Q&A I will tell you what we accomplished this week. He is diligent, obedient, and kind. There are a few cultural and personality differences to get around but overall it is going really great
My district Elder Lucena is in the front, squatting

4. Ana and Benjamin are doing good(more on that a little later) The only problem is that they are teenagers. Sometimes they are really involved and excited about the Gospel. Other times not so much.
5. New Years was pretty...meh. We had a grewat dinner with a member family but we had to be in our apartment at 10 and we had to be in bed by 11 so this was the first New Years that I slept straight through midnight. Kind of a bummer but overall New Years was good
6. This week we found 11 new investigators which is awesome. We are going to see how all of them do in the future. The problem is that we find a good amount each week but only a handful stay around and actually listen. Kind of frustrating but cannot really do much about it

My ward directory project: Organizing every less active member we have in our area by street and then going and finding all of them

7. The most infuential person in the work in our ward is either the ward mission leader or the bishop. They are really helpful and encouraging when it comes to the work

Ok so this week something that brought me joy and gave me things to look forward to in the next couple weeks is that we worked so hard with Elder Lucena and we set 4 baptismal dates. Benjamin for January 27th and 3 investigators for Februrary 10th. The 3 are Maria and Amanda a mother and daughter we found with Elder Nava and are coming along really well and the third is Oscar Duran the father of Daniela. We are also going to set a date with Ana in the near future. It is so exciting to find people that are prepared for the Gospel and are ready to do something about. A lot of good work ahead but also a lot of good news hopefully as well

Love you guys
Elder Evans
