Week #33 The Lord Trusts Us!
Hey everyone Elder Evans checking in. Great week and I cannot wait to tell you guys all about it. Here we go!
This pic I attached is the one Hermana Morgan took for my Mission Portal Picture.
Thought you guys would want to see it
Q&A
P-day plans: Today we had an activity for an elder in my apartment that is finishing his mission at this end of the transfer. His name is Elder Lima and he is from Brazil. It was fun. We played soccer and Monopoly and ate pizza. Once we are done writing and buying our things I figure we are just going to relax.
How are you different from 3 months ago? The way that I am different is that I am definitely more confident. I can open my mouth a lot faster with a lot more confidence. I feel more confident with what I know and what I have to do. I am happier and I know more about why I am here. And my Spanish is better. That is a plus
Do they celebrate Valentines Days and Mardi Gras in Chile? Have not heard much about Mardi Gras(When is it by the way?) They do celebrate Valentines Day but not like the US does. There are not a lot of decorations and stuff like that but a lot of people had family come and visit and many of them are on vacation as well.
Besides Elder Christofferson what was the best thing about last week? I would have to say the fireside we had with President Morgan on Sunday. Every transfer we have a fireside and we bring investigators, less actives, recent converts, etc. We got the blessing of singing in the choir at the fireside which I was so pumped for. I actually miss choir so much...but Sunday was definitely one to remember
How's your health? Health is all good. Nothing with my knee has happened so far and I hope it stays that way. I had a few mosquito bites last week but nothing to worry about. I learned a long time ago that mosquitos love my blood.
Who do you consider close a close friend on your mission? Anyone in my group I feel like a close friend. I am also so excited when I see them and see how well they are doing. It is fun to think how far we have all come. Many are training or have trained and quite a few are leaders in the mission now.
So Elder Christofferson came to Chile on Thursday which was amazing. We had some extra time after he gave us a short message about the Spirit so we had a Q&A session with an Apostle! I had always wanted to be in one of those and it was awesome. We dived into such deep doctrine and the Spirit was so strong. It was hard to finish the meeting and see him go. I also got to see Hermana Harris (a good friend from High School)! It was so great to see her and how well she is doing. Her Spanish is way better than when I left the CCM. She left for Rancagua today early in the morning. Now that I think about it she is probably there now. It was so fun to see a friend in the mission and it was motivation to keep going forward.
We have an inestigator named Patricia that has a date for the 10th of March which I am so excited for. It was hard at first but people are starting to emerge that are intetrested in learning about the Gospel. I learned a lot this week about how there are people wherever we go that are ready and prepared to receive the Gospel. We just to have faith they are there and put in the work to find them.
Love you guys! I always pray for you and think of you! Have an amazing week
Elder Evans
A project I am working on. It is a calendar to keep us organized and focused in our purpose for the next few weeks. We keep note of the dates we have, the corresponding interviews, and it is a reminder of how much time we have to get it all done.
A quick selfie!
