Week #57 I Stand All Amazed
Buenas tardes one and all. Cannot believe that we are in August. Time goes by crazy fast here which is kind of weird. It mostly goes by really fast because we have so much to do. It can be crazy sometimes but it is also very fulfilling.
Q&A
1. How has your last week been? How are things going in Violeta CousiƱo? Things are going really well down here. Beatris, a wife of a recent convert named Alejandra, came to church on Sunday which puts her on track for her baptismal interview this Saturday. It is super exciting seeing Beatris and Alejandro grow closer because of the power of the Gospel. Once she passes, we will be starting the preparations for her baptism which will be on the 17th of August. Like I said it is a very busy time but also very fulfilling.
2. How are your clothes/ shoes holding up? For shoes, I am doing well. They will be completely destroyed at the end of the mission but I feel pretty confident that they will last me until I am done. I am good on shirts, socks, garments. I will have to buy another pair of pants I think. I ripped one playing soccer with the ward....but Elder Gonzales told me about a sister that sows and could be willing to repair it for me so I am going to look into that.
3. What is your favorite thing about being a missionary? One of my favorite things about being a missionary is personal study. I love the hour I get to myself to study the scriptures, Preach My Gospel, and General Conference. I often find my personal relationship with the Lord grow in that one hour. I also enjoy walking. I know kind of weird but I love walking outside(I will never get bored of the view of the Andes we have here and the view of the city is not that bad either. )Talking tyo new people is also very exciting. I have met so many different types of people while I have been here on the mission
4. What is something you love about the chilean culture? Their food, first off. It is just incredible. Also learning new Chilean words is fun as well. Hopefully my Spanish is understable when I come back.
5. How was zone conference with Pres. Brotherson? It was awesome! President Brotherson has a different style of teaching than President Morgan but still I learn tons. He has a lot of work to do and more is coming. He announced that 18 new missionaries are coming to our mission next transfer. It is going to be quite a few fun weeks. What was fun for me at zone conference was when the new missionaries introduced themselves. My first zone conference was about a year ago and I remeber what it was like to be where they were. It was fun to reflect on that day and see how I have changed and grown since then.
This week is full. Baptismal interviwe for Beatris, interviwes with President Morgan, interchanges, weekly planning, sacrament meeting, etc. It is going to be a very full, very productive week. Let's go!!!
Love you guys! Have a great week!
Elder Evans
