Week #82 In the Oven of Affliction I Have Chosen Thee

Hello one and all how are you guys? It has been an incredible week with is hard moments but also its really greats moments. Heres why:

1. Remember the Mancilla family? Miguel (the dad) has some health problems and we go over every Sunday to get him. He is not married with Jenny(the mom) but Miguel told us on Saturday that this Wednesday or Thursday they will be getting a date set for their civil marriage. Once that happens Miguel wants to get baptized as soon as possible!

2. A hard circumstance this week was the heat. Last Saturday was absolutely awful. Members told us that it was the most heat they had had in Santiago for the last 100 years. Do not know how to confirm that but either way, it was HOT thus making it hard to find people

I bought some new cheap shoe soles and the heat beat them up pretty good

It got so hot that we put up 2 fans to keep us cool

3. I had to give a talk on Sunday about the importance of searching the Book of Mormon for the fulness of the Gospel. The bishop called me at 10 p.m. Saturday asking me to cover. It was actually really fun. We also had to share a small message in elders quorum so we had a busy Sunday.

4. An amazing miracle was that we has 8 people in church on Sunday. Miguel and Jenny, Karla and her daughter came, as well as Carolina, whose mom is a active member but Carolina has not been baptized yet. And then to my surprise, Jean his wife and his daughter walked into the chapel. I was at the piano playing prelude but absolutely stunned and thrilled.

I have to admit the few days before Sunday were pretty tough. It seemed nobody was home or wanted to see us. Some people were actually rather rude to us. But by the time we got to Sunday and saw all those blessings come, it was worth it. There is opposition in all things but at the end of it all it truly makes us stronger.

Love you guys! Have an amazing week!
