Week #58 Carrying the Banner
Hey guys what is up? Things are going really good down here in Violeta Cousino. Great news: Beatris is going to be baptized. She passed her interview on Saturday and is going to be baptized on Friday. Yeah!!! It is especially exciting because she will be united with her husband in the Church who was baptized a few months back. That is what we are focusing on here is helping families come together unto Christ.
That is so exciting that Cameron is coming home today. Is he already back? If he is, send me a picture please!!! I would love to see him. Wow I cannot believe that it has been 2 years since I said goodbye to him before he headed out. Time flies, right?
The highlight of this week was obviously Beatris. She is very excited for her baptism and so are we. I also had a great interview with President Brotherson on Wednesday. I love this guy more and more as I come to know him. He is very intelligent and he is also an incredible teacher. I learned quite a bit from him in my interview on Wednesday
Another highlight of the week is that I gave my first sacrament talk in Spanish. They called me on Saturday night at 10:30 and asked me to fill in last minute because one of the planned speakers fell through. I was happy to do and I kept it really simple but direct and powerful as well. It was actually quite fun speaking in Spanish from the pulpit for the first time.
That was pretty much my week. I will let you guys know how the baptism of Beatris goes and get a few good pictures as well.
Love you guys! Have a great week!
Elder Evans
We went to the temple this morning with my companion Elder Gonzales.
The next to pictures are of me alone in front of the temple. The first one was taken one year ago exactly today. The day I left the CCM (mission training center)
This picture was taken today exactly one year later out in the field.
I Love being a missionary in Chile!
Belief is the reason we go on a mission. It is the motive for preaching about Christ and sharing/Proclaiming his love. Faith is understanding we are children of God and our Heavenly Father. May this defined and explained and Meaning of faith bless you in life. Faith is defined again and because faith has an inherent joy it gives us a solid foundation that we finally have the peace we have been searching For.
ReplyDelete"Many believer's feed themselves on what God hasn't done. When I dwell on what hasn't happened, I create the atmosphere for the spirit of offense to arise and to thrive. When I dwell on what hasn't happened, I legitimize unbelief. I live with a sense of justification, for not believing God.
Faith in the purest sense is the ceasing of resistance. even when there's no physical evidence, when the other evidence is present. Not feeding ourselves on what God hasn't done Faith in it's purest form is the absence of resistance
Heaven is a place where everyone is celebrated, some are more honored but everyone is celebrated. All men and all women shall be judged on the light which they have received. Heaven is a permissible culture. God's nature is eternally permissible. These statements protect us from credit.
Faith in the purest sense is the ceasing of resistance, even when there's no physical evidence, when the other evidence is present. Not feeding ourselves on what God hasn't done. Faith in it's purest form is the absence of resistance. Faith doesn't deny a problems existence, it denies it's influence. He or she was someone whom aridity and desolation never disturbed for he or she had a deeply rooted, and a vigorous faith.
Now we can act as we have always dreamed. Now we can act as we have always been. Now we can step into the light and gather the sunlight instead of blocking out our possibilities. Instead of blocking out our joy. Variety will bloom in/under the sun. We can show off our best, we can enjoy other people's gifts. We can blossom where we stand upon the joy that faith provides us. Upon the joy that faith inherently has, which blossoms the entire field of flowers"
